breaking away for that vitamin d

I’ve been taking small breaks from social media lately to focus on more intentional time. I love this time to unplug, get outdoors and feel my priorities shift in positive ways. The balance and recalibrated energy gained after a good amount of time spent disconnecting from our wider world and reconnecting with myself always brings out a better ME and helps clear stuck energy. I feel good ending the day knowing that I have been in the present a little more and  contributing to my own well-being, which is why I am thrilled to share and support this “Log Outside” message from my favorite hiking shoe company Vasque footwear encouraging others to disconnect from technology, in order to reconnect with themselves and each other.

We all love our devices – they allow us to explore worlds we’d never see otherwise, learn things we never thought possible, and connect with people far away. But we believe that always being connected is draining and the best way to find reprieve from our screens is to connect with the world outside. Because nothing has the power to brighten our days, uplift our moods, and refresh our days quite like the touch of sunlight on our faces.

I’m all about this sunshine state of mind so my goal this season is to take more frequent pauses away from the devices, hit some new trails and enjoy the beauty and the benefits of my favorite hiking season.
