A waterfall on fire? Say what???

Made it out to Yosemite a couple weeks back to see this beautiful natural phenomenon. Stood there in awe surrounded by walls of granite over 7,500 ft high looking up at gorgeous falls that blow my mind every time.
If you don’t know what firefall is, it’s a couple weeks in mid February when the sun is at the correct angle, a clear sunset can backlight Horsetail Falls in such a way that it lights up like a glowing bright orange fire.

After about 45 minutes, I didn’t think it was going to happen as the combination of sun reflecting on the water, clouds in the sky and flow didn’t seem to be in alignment. After giving it another five minutes visitors, including myself began to pack up and make their way back. It was then, Mother Nature sent a very special gift along with a powerful reminder, patience is a virtue!  I had almost missed it! Ran quickly to catch the magic moment of fire glow in excitement. Yosemite trips are always one for the books especially during winter time.
