The magic of starting small…
Setting intention involves being very clear and positive about something we want.
Here are 3 small steps you can take to get you set up for a successful and consistent exercise habit.
•Plan-Set goals that are small and attainable.
•Progress-Work towards building the goals
•Accountability- Track progress to see improvements/where can I improve?
Sometimes when we are feeling super motivated, we overestimate what we can commit to. It’s best to start small in order to avoid constantly looping fast success with fast failure.
Start easy and let the momentum build overtime. Start with 20 minutes a day, and bump it to 30, and then 40 and so on in 2 weeks or a month.
You might feel like 20 is nothing. Shift your thinking to 20 is something! Anything, even 20 is better than nothing. It’s not about how much time you spend on an activity. It’s the fact that you are habituating the action into your routine, making it easier for you to scale your commitment over time.
Don’t despise small beginnings, rather celebrate them and enjoy the benefits that they offer.
